So last night we went to the High School and sat through a presentation on graduation requirements and new classes for fall.

Kate is taking AP English, AP Environmental Science, AP 2-D Portfolio, Discrete Math, Economics/Government, Spanish V independent study, Senior Seminar in Educaton-Teacher Cadet Program and a couple of art electives.

She is so excited because as a senior she is allowed to tailor her curriculum to meet her strengths and desires. She wants to major in Secondary Education with a goal of certifying in Spanish and Visual Arts.

Yes, we are very proud of her. As we walked from meeting group to group, the department directors greeted her with enthusiasm and a personal connection that made me realize she has garnered respect for herself as a young woman in that environment. She brokered for a Spanish independent study and for a place in the Teacher Cadet Program. She is quite a young woman.

March 2, we go through the process with Christie who will join Kate at the High School next year. I am looking forward to the experience as their choices will be very different, hilighting the nuances of their own personalities.
