cat and Kate

So...the cat went to the vet.

The cat carrier has long been outgrown. So, we waited til after the traffic died down and I drove to the vet with Les holding the cat and reassuring him. He was EXTREMELY anxious about this unusual car ride experience.

Turns out not half as anxious as the presence of a large german sheppard in the lobby of the vet caused. So, Les dropped him off and we counted the holes that were torn into his favorite knit shirt as Bagheera headed for the high ground (in this case, relative...and Les's head).

That evening we got him back somewhat mollified by our return but mildly anxious that we might take him there and leave him again. (We had not left him there since he was neutered as a kitten).

Just a sprain and so began the daily task of giving him his pain med...ketoprofen. Kind of like cat Advil only in a fish oil. Ugh! The vet said he would like it but the Vet's Assistant (the one who has to GIVE meds there) said "No, he won't...this is how you pry open their jaws.)

Les chose to play with him and when he rolled onto his back for Les to ruffle his tummy while he plays attack cat (they are indeed an odd little couple, this man and his dog...I mean, cat). At some point, Bags always starts to open his mouth in a demonic little grin so that is when Les gave him the squirt of medicine.

Well, he flipped onto his feet...coughing like he had a hair ball and growling at the same time (a unique sound to be sure) and gave Les the most disgusted look!

Thankfully this is a once a day thing but after the third day his limp was barely there so we decided to forego this little adventure.

This weekend was a no travel weekend...pause and celebrate that with me....

Friday night we had a quiet night. Saturday ran errands with the girls including choosing a watch for Kate as a grad gift...nope no diamond necklace for this practical girl.

Sunday was late rising and then going to get her first dorm things and shopping for a grad gift for Eliot.

All in all....except for the cat meds...a wonderful experience.
