Last night, my friend's husband died. He went out to play basketball with some friends and she went to bed and woke to a call. He collapsed on the court and was gone.

Today, we try to work but really don't care. She has been through so much. Her son was born with major heart defects and she saw him through those surgeries before her second child and first daughter died. Now this.

I cannot imagine the devastation in her heart and hope she is wrapped in a cocoon of numbness.

Later, there is nothing but time to grieve as her heart will.
