Over Scheduled

Shall I bore you with my day?

We have eighteen new nurses coming in this month and next. Varying degrees of experience.

All need education/orientation calendars stating which days are clinical orientation to their department, critical care or cardiac classes or field experiences in other departments.

Field days have to be coordinated so you send only one staff person on a given day. If the staff person is a brand new nurse...we schedule the field day to follow class content for reinforcement.

Different levels of experience get different classes, field experiences and # of days of orientation.

Five departments...sixteen individual schedules (my office mate did two of them) and five department masters. I have worked on nothing else since 0830 but now I have the rough drafts. Now to type them into forms, add remaining field days and then double check them for completion and correct numbers of hours/week.

On top of internship startup. Ugh.

On the home front...I made Kate a cord and carved bead (bone and jade) belt as one of her birthday gifts. We have been looking for something funky but all were not her style or WAY too big.

School for them is around the corner.

On the SCA front. Now that I am not going to bed at 2030 each evening, I need to get Curia prep finished. Also need to make at least one dress for Assessment. Of course, there are the usual loose ends...calls and emails to return, etc.

Fatigue is better. Cellulitis is just about gone. Another two + weeks of antibiotics. Thank you for your get well wishes, kind thoughts and prayers. They mean a whole lot.
