Today is prom...
So last night was prep. Picking after prom clothes, packing, buying new tennie pumps and painting nails.
This am was errands, picking up his boutonniere, having hair done. Home to relax a bit before makeup, dressing and prelim pictures.
Then of course, he arrives. There is bustle to gift roses, pin on flowers and get the obligatory photos done.
Lord knows they are patient because they left our "photo session" to go by his mom's for another.
Out for sushi, then to prom, then to after prom.
I am SUPPOSED to get a call to tell me if they are coming in by 0200 or staying at after prom all night. So, if you are up late and know my cell number...keep me company won't you?
Just a few short months...I think it finally hit Les with prom prep.
Update...so after Prom includes not only high intensity activities like rock wall climbing, horizontal bungee, and mechanical bull riding but also has monitored (by faculty) rest zones which allows kids to crash there instead of attempting to drive in the wee hours.
Thus the clothes and sleeping bag that Eliot was supposed to put in his car.
...when Les went to go pick up our dinner...there sat Kate's sleeping bag on the porch.
"I'll call her and tell them to come by and pick it up," he said. "Her phone won't be on," I said. "Well, then I will have no choice but to drop it by the restaurant," he said smiling...(he had teased her in the afternoon about getting a reservation for five for dinner there that night...us four and Eliot...she was not amused.)
So, imagine her surprise when Eliot says to her, "Kate, you aren't gonna believe this but I think I just saw your sister!"
Christie had gone in to get his keys so dad could put her things in the car.
We have all gotten quite a chuckle at the thought of how big her eyes got when she saw Chris!
