After yesterday's one hour search for the products that would achieve "the perfect lip," Kate was all prepped for today and photos.

She started off a bit shy which was okay as the first two settings were for more formal pictures...closeups of her in a blue silk blouse and the ever present, traditional black velvet drape. (Kate was a bit disconcerted to be sent to the changing room with a folded drape only to find that it had to be tied in the back in several places....she came out clutching it to her with huge, arched eyes for me to tie the back.)

The last two settings were cute and fun. The first, a white background where she was wearing jeans and a longsleeved black T with openwork crisscrossing down each arm. One was leaning against a column of fake stone numbers (2005) and the other was a casual barefoot pose in a chair (thank goodness, her toenails were still painted from Elliot's surprise party!) They did a number of cute, fun poses and she really loosened up.

The last we hope is the best. It is a black and white photograph of her in jeans, a white tank and her black leather jacket leaning back against a brick "wall." I could see the setup for that one and she looked so beautiful, so happy, so casual and carefree that it made my heart clench.

Oh my God is this going to be the year of letting go or what?
