Violated and Violent
2004-06-28 - 9:55 p.m.

It seems that sometime between Friday morning and this evening, someone entered our house and stole the girls' money from on top of their dressers.

No, they both did not misplace their money at the same time.

Yes, they had just been paid but we had not gone to the bank because we were in high ToC prep.

No, nothing...I mean nothing (jewelry, silver, small appliances, computer equipment) was touched other than their money.

Yes, they now realize leaving a roll of 20s on your dresser is not the best of plans.

It sounds like a teenager...and unfortunately one of their friends was helping Les pack the van. Les left the door unlocked to run get ice so if Christie got done babysitting next door she could come on in to get ready to go.

No, we cannot prove it but I am really at a loss as to who else would have known that a)they babysit and b)we were all gone this weekend. Christie has shared both with him.

He has been a troubled young man. Christie thought a good friendship was all he needed to turn him around.... I hope it was not him.

Christie is hurt and physically sick. Katie is just plain pissed.

I am frustrated, angry and sad...and my home is just not the same. I am somewhere between their two responses.

This is more than a stove on fire or an injury...this little gift from the weekend will take a long time to get over and will take more time to heal.
