Well Investiture has come and gone...the event had a happy elegance that was really sweet to see. Janos and his staff did a fine job and the site was really nice. The idea for tokens in the tournament gave a nice twist to standard fighting fare and encouraged a thoughtfulness and comraderie that was kind of the theme of the day. Our new Baronage, William and Julien personify the theme.

It was wonderful to see so many and visit with neighbors and Nottinghill family alike.

On the worst list were things that could not be helped: Bitter cold in the cabins Friday night and back spasms much of Saturday. Missing friends even though it was essential that they be home.

All in all it was one of those few events that turns into a series of Bests:

Coming in Friday to cabin with Muirgheal and Cormac. Having room in the cabin with cancellations for Eamon and Meadh to join us. Lots of giggles and humor rocking on the porch.

Morwenna's bag of magic with every NSAID you can name...a Godsend and the difference between making it and not.

Bera's happy shoeless surprise and Christian's proud smile. The Sacred Stone "peaches" all working to make the day perfect for her. Gen's dedication (and crackpot) trip from MD to demonstrate the breadth of friendship.

Vigil hospitality placed over a cold concrete slab on a hot day! Brilliant happenstance.

The viewing gallery made by our new baronage and their team of happy sewers. Perfect for such a hot event and a true gift of who they are to their Barony.

The new Glastonbury chair thrones...Dexter and Sinister! Wonderful and soon to be seen at an event near you!

Pinned up dags and sideless surcoats...the Invisible Baroness...quick change artists....Coral Branch.

Chocolate torte with Blackberries.

Knitting and chatting. The best Seneschals in the world.

Wonderful hard working daughters...Christie hosted four newcomers most of the day and Kate served her new Baroness. Later Christie enjoyed bardic and dance while Katie crashed. They are so different and yet in many ways so alike. Easy to be proud of them.

Court delays that allow for a decent drop in temperature...court without modern chairs....Southern Caer Mear.

Dinner, harmonica players drinking strawberry daquiris as big as your head...Fritz's evil laugh...Clowns.

Laid out on a porch with Sacred Stone...the Brady Bunch...the 80's... Frog Eaters...cordials...Come as You Aren't.

Warm Cots shared with tiny people...early morning chats and pack out...brunch event "cool down."

NAPS!

Thanks everyone for a lovely day.
