My Daughter, the Queen

Not quite a week this time...

Tomorrow is Kate's honors history "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." She is Eleanor of Aquitaine...a really lucky assignment considering our family recreational activities!

So she has a lovely red overgown and gold underdress with a veil and appropriate jewelry. We made a sculpy plaquet crown designed from her tomb effigy. Attached the plaques to leather, painted them a nice dull gold and then jewelled them.

She looks awesome and worked really hard on her research so she sounds good too... It was oddly striking to see her walk from her room in SCA garb with a Crown on her head. I wondered if that foreshadowed the future one day or if this would be the only time I would see her in that way...both are certainly okay with us four. Still, she looked beautiful; now if she could get used to hearing through the veil!

Looking forward to seeing many of you at Crown. We will have our 12x12 behind the MOL pavilion. Come by and see me but we have to behave relatively well so as not to distract the MOLs (John is first chair and I don't want to get "the look")
