Jongleurie
2002-05-20 - 8:57 a.m.

So, the weary traveller returns again. This time worn in body but renewed in spirit. Jongleurie was a welcome respite after a difficult week and so my traditional best and worst.

Best of the Weekend:

Lunch with Les and fitting everything into one suitcase. (Everything except feastgear, four pillows, chair, table and cooler...but really this was really GOOD packing for me :-)

Leaving in enough time to get there before the gate deadline (thanks Nikulai and Nia for the reassurance).

Really nice cabin accomodations. Thanks Effenwealt.

Dinner with HM Isabel and Novella. Laughs and steaks, mmmm.

Late night light hearted meeting with Their Excellencies.

Pel Mel with HRH and Kyne: Just so you all know, "Poo" is a period gaming term referring to when the ball goes anywhere but where you intend it.

Jousting on "horseback!" an engineering feat! Galleries of ladies..."Go Daemon!"

Finding a seat at court (thanks Emma). Laughs and coughs in the consumption corner.

HM and HRH walking in together wreathed in smiles. Watching Mor serve HM as LinW all day secretly knowing how sweet the moment would be that evening when she got her CGD.

Fish lobbing :-) and chocolate chucking at feast.

Bardic-"Cost of the Crown" "Place Called Home" "My Queen" and "God is In"

Extra covers delivered to us to save us from freezing!

Return of my chair on Sunday am.

Brunch/Lunch with Nikulai and Nia. No pressure, many laughs.

WORST of the weekend.

The 59 minute error in timing we made at the gate after dinner.

The plagues of weather. HOT and humid Friday night, RAIN on Saturday morning and 40 degree chills on Saturday night. (One suitcase does not cover garb suitable to a year's worth of weather in one weekend.)

Having someone "borrow my chair" from noon Saturday til Sunday am...

LIVE pullet chickens brought to high table in an "egg" complete with chicken guana on the platter.

Bad pennies that keep showing up.

Pressure to make recommendations.

Finding a tic!

Still, home safely in time for a rest before the Survivor finale. Hot baths and a wonderful backrub!

So how was your weekend?
