Sassafras and Relaxation

So, I did not paint this weekend...

Instead, we decided to go away from it all. Just us four, together laughing and smiling. First we worked on our criteria...how far do we want to drive, when can we get started, what do we want to do? Then Les made all the plans and I began to pack...

Could not leave til after iceskating lessons and only wanted to travel about 1.5 hours...limited us to SC or Charlotte. Decided to go to Greenville; as we never go there except for SCA. Only wanted to swim, relax and have a nice dinner...easy.

So off we went. Les reserved a suite. The girls were in the pool and I just relaxed and let the week go away...

Out to dinner, lucked out as we had no idea about where to go...Sassafras Lowcountry Cafe. Sweet, off the beaten path, just the right blend of old country and artsy, wonderful staff and fantastic menu. Outside was a small dot of a city park with a grape arbor. The girls and I walked there while Daddy paid the bill. What a great memory.

Movie together then more relaxation. Love my family and how we care for and about each other. Our lives are so hectic we sometimes don't slow down enough to enjoy the feeling of that. The SCA has not been good for that.

Brunch on Sunday then drove home dozing in the car just to reach home to take a nap. (did not sleep well as changing beds is often an issue for my back). What a relaxing weekend!

I love you, Les.
