The only thing I did not accomplish was grading tests but I hope to get some of them done at lunch.
101 Christmas cards going out in the mail today. I still have a few more to do over the next day or so. I am very late this year.
I finished them up yesterday afternoon while the girls and I watched "White Christmas". Christie has always loved the musical numbers particularly Vera Ellen but this year Katie particularly enjoyed the dialogue (especially the snappy comebacks).
I was starting to think that perhaps she did not receive the "White Christmas" gene on the -X- I contributed (God knows her father does not have one to contribute...he watched soccer in the other room!) But no,this year the dominant gene won out and I watched their bright faces, glimmering eyes and shared smiles as they watched the movie together.
They asked me about my father and noted that my daddy was a WWII vet like the characters. They related to the sisters and their love interlaced with the occasional sharp comment. They know the intense pride and love for a Grandpa. They sang along and noted the details of each costume. So maybe there are a lot of factors that can feed into the stimulation of that gene after all.
So, from here in the deep south where we dream of White Christmas but sure can't drive in it...
Best wishes for a holiday season full of shared joy and contentment from our house to yours!
